Here is my first MOC, Obi-Wan Kenobi's Delta 7 Jedi Starfighter from Episode 2!
This has been on my to-do list for a long time, so it feels great to finally have it done. My goal for this MOC was to make it as close to minifigure scale as possible, my chosen scale being 1:41.67, which basically means 1 meter translates to 3 studs. Some compromises needed to be made to fit this scale, such as increasing the cockpit area size, as minifigures are quite wide and there aren't any narrower windscreen pieces that work.
I went back and forth on making this build studless vs leaving some studs, and ended up with a compromise of just a few studs on the wings. I think this looks is a good balance of looking realistic, while also having that feel to it.
This build also has very simple retractable landing gear. You can leave these off if you want, but they are good for displaying it flat on a shelf. I will be making a stand for this MOC in the near future, I will update this description once that has been made.
Shoutout to 2bricks, Pixel-Dan, and others who have made Delta 7 MOCS for the inspiration.
This MOC should pair well with the new UCS Jango Fett's Firespray-Class Starship (Slave I). If you end up building this and have both, feel free to share photos so people can see how they look together.
Virtually the entirety of the pieces needed to build this MOC can be found directly on Pick a Brick, so it should be super easy and affordable to pick up. The only 2 pieces that are missing are the 1x1 round tile with the republic logo, and the R4 head. These can be left out, or swapped for whatever you feel works best.
I plan on making other versions of the Delta 7 soon, such as Plo Koon's, Anakin's yellow one, and the Azure Angel. Let me know which one you guys would like to see first.
